Like others have mentioned before, definitely reminiscent of Radiohead. But hunz without a doubt have their own personal sound. The song is great melodic electronica. Definitely one of my favourite new artists!

It helps promote new and unique bands. It helped bring Silverchair and many many others out of obscurity.

Sleeperspaceborn has done another wonderful remix of one of my tunes. Such a wonderful talent and I feel honored that we would consider my work. I love how this song plays out and it has a lot of depth and variety to it all. I’m such a sucker for around 4:59 onwards .. hehe. Thank you so much Sleeperspaceborn.

Mixing Comments [Mr Mark Dollin]
- Go the 80s toms!! Taking the very same approach with the other songs to mix this. Addressing the EQ/tone/mix of the parts in order: low end- kick, bass; then the drums; then the melodic instruments; then the vocal; then all together. Perculiarites as follows:
- Smoothing out the micro-harshnesses in the drum parts, making sure they present nice and birghtly without being to intense.
- Making sure all the keyboard sounds don’t sit too low in tone, lifting things up with EQ. Adding subtle echo here and there to fill things out. Fine tuning the counter balance of all the musical elements with volume changes here and there.
- Cleaning up the vocal and keyboard samples for little clicks etc…
- Now for Hunz’s angelic vocals acapella. Doing as before sending all vocals into a group to get the overall tone right.
- Adding all the other elements to join the vocals. Really enjoying the second verse! There’s some nice attitude there… Fine tuning volumes to get everything to gel.
- Checking the mix on other playback systems. Headphones. Then on the big speakers in the other room. Things are sitting well so it may be time to rest the mix and check it again later.
- A new session with fresh ears. Bringing the bass subs a touch. Tiny adjustment on the chorus synth delay. Bringing down the bridge synth a touch.
- All done! Time to upload for Hunz.

Started rather late, like 2pm and finished this one up around 7pm with a 1hr break inbetween. Not to bad. Will work on another track tonight and I hope to complete 3 before the weekend is done OR I’m going to fall behind. The quality might start hurting but I’ll make sure it’s not going to suffer too much ^_^. As always, names names names .. I need names people .. gimme

- Really not liking the whiney-ness of the verse
- Taking the beat out and looping it to see what melodies present themselves
- In doing this, I always keep the chorus vocals in my mind because it has to create a brige to get there.
- although in this case it might be nice to have 2 different moments
- Liking the same melody sung less whiney and more low so going to do a scat version to see if it fits in.
- It works.
- Making the drums flow better, which means creating a mood that the chorus could break apart a bit more.
- So more stops and pulls but only at the end of phrazes.
- I feel like this is a good time to put in some really bad lowfi toms doing a typical beat.
- on man, why renoise has a Delete all samples is beyond me. Lucky it has an undo that works.
- Found some Dorky 8inch and 10inch toms, sound so yucky. Excited by this ^_^
- Put on heavy but round distortion over this – It sounds so like a lame casio tone moment. So happy.
- Writing more verse lyrics
- Recording the vocals in .. Wow so many cars going past my room right now.
- Oh crapsicales I didn’t turn my monitors all the way down when I did my vocals take T_T will hear the damange done.
- Haha, wow has this nice live feel about them with strange spill. I’m going to leave this as a mistake that happens for a reason.

- Going to double up on “shake down the barrier” lines
- Going to do a harmoney just for “shake down the barrier”
- Liking what the chorus does now.
- Listening back to the crappy toms makes me sad, they sound silly and too long.
- I’m going to move into arragement mode and put this together.
- Clone selection is so brilliant .. thank you renoise team.
- As I’m arranging some little piano parts I hinting to be alive
- The chorus bg harmonies are hanging into the lead into the next verse. Sounds really neat as they resolve to early over the chords but lead into the next chords ..
- Still not happy with the verse vocals, I think there is another melody that is so much better which the chorus needs.
- Listening through it and It’s going to have to do. Will make a note and change it IF i get time.
- My wife said “I liked the song until the crappy toms came in”
- I’m trimming all the long tom rolls

Wow. What a change in pace. It’s my favorite thing. It’s raining, and it’s cold. I have had a rough week at work; there are some major deadlines due over the next few days, and things are just going wrong. It really just nags at you when you are writing, but I decided to not care tonight and just write. I started with something I love doing so it would encourage me to enjoy and forget. I ended up with something so strange that it’s growing on me. The verse part is a bit, bleh, but the chorus is so strange that I’m going to work with it to see what I can squeeze out of it till the end.

- Looking to tie something from my other album onto this
- Loaded up the Lounge Lizards Rhodes Vsti
- Created a nice loop
- Rendering it to samples for chop-up love
- I love creating drums from the chopped up instruments.
- Created basic Kick/Snare Distort
- Just started hearing melodies and got caught on the ride
- Something strange came out, and I like it.. but only the chorus, not too happy with the verse
- it’s nothing like creating a bridge from the last album .. waaa T_T
- Anyways, I’ll post it.
I have some extra help coming my way too. I have found someone that is going to help me mix down some tracks, which I’ll talk about tomorrow. He is also going to send through his process of mixing. I’ve also found someone to master my tracks on the final day (28th). Very excited and can’t wait to see how this all pans out
