Tiny Cartridge had lovely things to say about my new chiptune single “Boy Walks Girl To Work And Is Followed By A Ghost”.
Tiny Cartridge
“Boy Walks Girl To Work And Is Followed By A Ghost” by .hnz/hunz. This is an advance track from 7-Bit Hero, the artist’s upcoming album following “an epic journey about a boy finding a girl a slightly better retail job.” If the rest of 7-Bit Hero’s songs tell their stories as convincingly as this single, this release will be one to anticipate!
And if you get a chance have a look at the 8bit collective website. If you look over to the right you can see the header “Most ‘Liked’ Music of Last Week” and I’m sitting at #6. A big thank you to everyone for the comments and sending some love with this new chiptune.
Announcing the track “Level 3 – Boy Walks Girl to Work and is Followed by a Ghost” from my upcoming chiptune album called “7bit Hero” written by my alias .hnz
You can hear me talk about this album live on 4zzz this Wednesday night (30th of June) from 6PM (UTC + 10) on ZEDGAMES. Link Here
Then see me perform the whole album for the 1st time at The Mana Bar (1st of July) from 8pm. Link Here
That’s all I’m saying for now, but please enjoy this free track. I’ve had so much fun making this album. I can’t wait to announce the release date of this.
Just a quick thank you to Nick for having me on the panel with Julian, Steven and Lawrence. As I was getting ready for my showcase they squeezed out this 2 part interview (- Lawrence) which is really neat. It was very humbling to hear my name mentioned here and there. To be honest it was just so great to meet up with these guys. They do such excellent work around Australia. THANKS!
For those of you from around the world that don’t get to see hunz play live I have just been informed that UnConvention is going to have a live web stream. It goes live at 10:00am, AEST.
I believe if you tune in at 3:00pm, AEST you will see me talk on a panel about “Music, Technology and Entrepreneurialism” and then you can watch as I go on at 6:30pm, AEST. We will be playing 1 completely new song that we can’t wait to record and get out there. If I get time I’ll post up the set list and send out another reminder hope you can join us.
Also if you are in the area come a long to the free show. It’s going to be awesome.
I recently got contacted to have my music used on a Documentary. The Documentary is about the Buddha Festival here in Brisbane. I wish the best for the team involved and many thanks for using my music! Enjoy.
I discovered this link yesterday and thought I would share it with you. The blog is “Music for the Laundromat” and they did a lovely “New Music Wednesday – Hunz” shout out and congratulated my DIY sensibilities. Thank you!
It was pretty awesome to be asked on a panel at Unconvention. Esp since Unconvention is a conference that celebrates DIY mentality in the music industry. I just love how the internet has opened up a tiny hole that bypasses the commercial music industry structure. Even better is that no one really knows how to turn that into “Marketing Strategies” yet because it’s happening right now and people like you and me are making it up us as we go along. It’s a really exciting time if you ask me
So, Apart from being asked to speak on a panel concerning “Music, Technology and Entrepreneurship”, Hunz will be playing a full set as well. The show is completely free and the conference will set you back a few. More information if you click on links and stuff below. I’ll keep you posted on some of my thoughts as things lead up to this and so on.
For those of you that couldn’t make it out to the Skinny jean show where they asked me to perform one of their songs “A blessing” and did a cover of “Soon, Soon”. Well you are in luck. Niteshok was there and filmed the 2 songs and has been kind enough to share it with everyone. A big thank you to the skinny jean guys for allowing me to sing their tune. It’s things like this that makes what you do all worth while!
Here are some more remixes that have completely blown me away. They are for “In Tomorrow” and “It’s so Light”. Thank you so much Sefiros for taking your valuable time and creating something that enhances the emotions of the tracks. He takes familiar phrases and vocals from the tracks and creates something that is between a ambient sound scape and something pop. It really is a perfect meld of our 2 styles. Please check out his albums and thank him if you get the time. Click here for his page
